A way to cut the cable

Roku has delivered a ton of entertainment, I have Netflix, Blockbuster and between these and all of the TV programs being offered you just can't beat Roku. I have two units now one for my guest and another for my own viewing.

A Viable and Less Expensive Alternative to Cable

Purchased two months ago and still finding hidden channels. Some of the channels do charge, which I will gladly pay for anything sports related. So far, my favorite have been the tech channels. There are how tos for everything from turning your old cellphone into a security camera to tutorials on using nearly any device.

I purchased this to experiment because I'm seriously looking at cutting the cord with cable TV. Although some of the free channel offerings don't stream well, I find the majority of them do. I was truly amazed at the amount of great free content available on YouTube. There are also many free channel sites that offer good TV programs from the past. Also, if you're looking for Christian programming and love old westerns, there is a lot of that too. I'm using this with DSL so I don't have super fast internet but I've had little trouble. It was also very easy to connect to my wireless DSL modem/router. I highly recommend this to anyone who is tired of paying for 100+ cable channels they don't have any interest in.

The only thing wrong to me is, it requires cable to open shows, I don't have cable, that's why I got roku.

This product is easy to use and set up, plus it lets me watch different things like hulu plus, Netflix, and the cw channel just to name a few. I have recommended it to my family and now they also own a roku.

I love my Roku1. I purchased the Roku 1 because I have cable and only needed netflix in my bedroom. My husband seems to use it more than me for all the other extras. I just didn't want the fees that xbox, and playstation had to get Netflix so I got the Roku and there are no yearly fees. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is the remote is really small and we are neat people and still lost it. But we googled a app for it on our phones and easy fix! Now we have three remotes! Both phones and Ipad!
