No longer works. Only two months old.

Used to work. First, it would not turn off and we had to unplug. Now it shows it's "retrieving" but remains a blank screen. I'm going to send it back.

A Fantastic Alternative to Cable

I was tired of paying cable bills and receiving little in return, feeling trapped to the "why would I ever watch this?" cable broadcast segments, shows and movies. Such a waste of time and money. So, I bought two Roku 1's and subscribed to Netflix, and I am glad I did. Now I watch mostly what interests me, and I have much to choose from. Granted, the free stuff offered on Roku has endless commercials and is frustrating to watch and no news is current, and I have to sometimes wait for the Roku to connect and reload a movie, but that is only occasionally. Perhaps if I had purchased the other models, I would not have that problem, but I will never again subscribe to cable. I love my Rokus.

Quit working after 30 days

Worked fine then it heated up and quit working it has been unplugged for two weeks.

I purchased a Roku 1 in january after getting a new TV for Christmas. No cable but had internet so using this was the best idea. Gets great reception and many channels the only draw back is you have to wait a day or so to get the steaming and thats okay.
I would recommend this to a friend!
