Easy to use, compact design!

Purchased a Roku 1 recently, the small design is amazing. Set-up couldn't have been easier. Even using this is so simple, you really don't have to be tech savvy!
The only thing I found a little confusing was understanding what the entire experience was going to be like... (before I got it home and set it up) Certainly didn't think set up was going to so user friendly, or how the options for watching selections was going to be. The power cord is not very long and this is one thing I would change.
It also would be nice if there was a way to stream local t.v. stations (for the news and such)

Different than what I expected

The Roku 1 doesn't shut off and seems to over heat causing the sound to not work. Unplugging it reboots it. The trouble shooting says the it uses less power than a nightlight and doesn't need to be shut off. Maybe we bought a bad one. I like the channels offered. I would buy...okay product.

I bought this product as a means to escape the horrifically high monthly costs associated with a large cable and Internet provider. I thought I might miss live television but I don't. The product in question has performed very well and only needed to be restarted twice in 4 months.Considering the cost, this product is extremely valuable.I was also amazed at how easy it was to install and use.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought my roku about two months ago and it works well. Biggest drawback is the delay from the remote to the roku. When I push a button it takes almost 2 seconds for it to actually respond. Other than that it streams well and is programmed with a lot of channels.
I would recommend this to a friend!

For me, beats cable by far

I got tired of paying a continually increasing monthly amount for cable. I had a lot of channels, but I only watched a few. I researched the Roku and talked to a couple of people who owned one, then concluded that it was by far the best for my viewing habits. It's easy and convenient to use and the best value. I am saving over a hundred bucks a month with Roku. I am very satisfied.
