Great all around!

I looked at all the different Roku options, and this one was the best for me! I don't have any gaming systems and just like my documentaries and movies and I catch up on a couple of shows. I can also catch up on the news as I like. It's awesome!

NO SUBTITLES OFFERED

Nothing was mentioned in the specifics of ROKU 1 that it did not offer subtitles. It only lets us know after we buy it and try to watch a French language move. We click on Subtitles and it tells us not offered in ROKU 1. So don't buy it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

A great buy for what it does

We have had this product for a few months. It has met more than our expections with the the amount of variety it offers. Well worth every penny I paid for this. It usually gets used every night or late night on weekends. I recomend to everyone we know and some have purchased it. Ruko is the best for us!

I was given this as a Mother's Day gift and had no idea I would enjoy it so much. I am 68 years old and I had no trouble learning to use it. This was a great gift!

After getting my first Roku via supporting KQED/PBS, I decided that having one in the kitchen was a great idea. Easy to set up with an easier to use remote ... a real center button rather than a depressed button I had to master with my tiny fingers. I think the best aspect of the Roku is access to Acorn streaming. The overall world of streaming sources (PBS, CBS News, Netflix and so many other choices) makes getting a Roku a wonderful alternative to cable. Roku (features and price being the key distinctions) is better than paying for cable and more fun. Also my first Roku is an HD. I like the Roku 1 better.

Great Product

I have had my Roku for about 6 months now. I absolutly enjoy it. Its easy to use and easy to set up as well. The only downfall is no local news for Vermont and most TV networks are mostly clips and not shows. So even with the 10,000 Chanel's you don't see much more than a 2 min clip. I mainly use mine for movies, Netflix and hulu
