We like the variety of channels we get on it. We wish that more of them were subscription free, especially channels where they start you with a few episodes to get you caught in, then want to start charging you per episode thereafter, but it is a fun thing to have. We truly enjoy it. We hope it doesn't wear out!

I bought the Roku 1 when I received a bonus at work and am so happy I did. Between Netflix and Hulu Plus there are so many choices to watch!!

Bought several months ago. The free channels are not the best programming. Favorite TV channels have to be with a DTV or Dish subscription. No continuous play feature. So you watch a show, and then have to select the next one to watch it, rather than it just starting up on its own. It fits my needs for now.

The Roku 1 has become the solution I had been looking for, after several (sadly) years of testing out various ways to stream directly to my telly, the Roku fit the bill. If I had to do it over again, I probably would have gone with the Roku 3, because I would have preferred to run the ethernet into the device, rather than the WiFi. But that's a personal preference.

Roku devise is easy to install and use. It is portable so my kids can borrow it. I love the FREE channel selections that can be added. This was a great purchase for us!

I've had Roku1for about 8 months now and love it! If you don't own a smart TV there's no need to throw out your current TV and go buy a new one just so you have easy access to Netflix, YouTub, etc. having Roku makes all that easily accessible and it's easy to use and very convenient.the only downside to this would be not having the ability to take advantage of all the channels that are offered, because you need to have an account with every one of them and there is a membership fee involved. So I basically only use Netflix, all the free video channels (hardly any good movies on there) and now that they finally added YouTube I get to enjoy that as well! Pandora is so easy to use on Roku it's the first thing I do when I get home, put my favorite playlist on! One thing I would really love to see on Roku would be to have the ability to web browse, so if lets say Firefox or Chrome was to add on as a channel and I was able to Google things and look up website I will give this product 100% and it would be the best product I own. But for now it's good enough until I am able to get a smart TV. Also, I love having the ability to use my smart phone as a remote (since I misplaced the Roku remote after the first week:/), and having the ability to share photos and videos directly from my phone onto the TV screen as well as streaming YouTube directly to the screen for my phone. I can't wait to see Roku advance even more in the near future.

should have bought this instead of "smart tv"

I've had this for a couple weeks now and it seems to work just fine. I bought it because my 7 month old LG smart tv would no longer play videos from Acorn, HBOGO and others. It seems my LG TV flash player cannot be upgraded so as video streamers upgraded I could not stream their video. My Roku 1 works great and wish I had known about it beforehand.
