Excellent entry level device

Very happy with device, excellent for someone just starting out with the whole "streaming media" and "cord cutting" Wished I would have gone with the Roku 3 BUT that will be my next purchase and the Roku 1 will go on the kids TV.

Love our Roku

We now have three Rokus one for each television. We LOVE them. Saving us a ton since we no longer subscribe to cable TV. So many options, I actually watch more TV now then all the years we had cable. I can watch what I want, when I want.

I have an older television that isnt wifi capable. I purchased the roku to watch netflix. Ended up finding several other roku channels I enjoy watching. The interface is very easy to use. Unit was very simple to set up. Had it set up on wifi in minutes. Can be connected directly to the router as well.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Better than apps on your TV

I have 3 Roku devices. I love them all. I have a Blu-ray player with some built in apps such as Netflix and I have a smart TV with built in apps as well. The Rokus are faster than both especially when typing in a search or setting up an account on a new app. The Roku remotes are better as well with nice tactile response and far fewer buttons to deal with.
Some of the unique benefits of Rokus are that they will hold your configuration when unplugged, which is nice when you leave for vacation for a week and you don't want to leave them plugged in. You don't have to type in your 20 character Wi-Fi password or your e-mail address and password for your Hulu, Netflix, and Amazon streaming accounts. They will work on virtually any TV made in the last 30 years. I have one running on an old CRT in my kid's play room. If I want, I can take the Roku with me to a hotel and connect it to the Wi-Fi there and I don't need to bring a laptop or tablet. I honestly have nothing negative to say about these devices.

I was able to get rid of cable with this Roku. Granted I don't watch TV much so this allowed me to stream what I DID want to watch, when I wanted to watch it. Very satisfied.
