I have my roku for about a year...it is so simple my four year old can use it...i lowered my cable bill by hundred dollars a month..it pays for itself...the only draw back is doesnt have an on off switch...

I bought this right before I had surgery in June so I could stream movies in my bedroom. My son & I both enjoy it & he's now begging me for one for his room. It's very easy to use.

We replaced a previous streaming device we purchased with the Roku and have been extremely pleased. It is super fast and provides many wonderful features.

Older Generation needs time to figure out

This is the best of both worlds for those who like local channels and extra TV. I am the last of the Baby Boomers and it has been a challenge learning everything; however, there are things I can find I like. The down side is all the pay for channels when you really like something. And there are some many dead channels I hope the updated Roku have a better choices. I don't like the pay part because this promises
10000+ channels, yet they don't say most you have to pay for at least on Roku 1.

Used for hours every day

We use our Roku for hours every single day, primarily with Amazon Prime Instant Video. We also use it for PBS / PBS Kids and Crunchyroll. Using my Android phone as a remote (Roku app on the wireless network) is amazing and lets me be super lazy when it's time to turn on another episode of SpongeBob.
We have an old CRT TV with component-in (non-web enabled, non-smart), which the Roku 1 works great with.

Our basic cable is expensive enough and adding additional premium channels just didn't make sense. After some research, we decided on a Roku and have loved it ever since and its been about a year now. It has so many channels; I was able to watch the World Cup on ESPN and paired it with my Netflix, YouTube, and Hulu for a huge variety of shows. I love ability to instantly rent movies from serves like M-Go and Redbox. My only wish is that I would've done it sooner.
