Roku 1 Rocks

I have been using the Roku 1 for about 3 months now. I have a Roku 3 on my main TV and bought this Roku 1 for the bedroom. Works perfectly and as intended.

A lot of content with a very small pricetag

I love this device and, more importantly, my wife loves it. We use Netflix and Amazon Instant Video on a daily basis. I also like to use the Time Warner Cable TV app, which seems to work very well.
As for the hardware, I have had a great experience with the wifi-only Roku boxes. I am a techie and my first inclination was to go with a wired Roku, but I took a leap and have been happy with it ever since.

Amazing little Device

I bought this as a second Roku. But it quickly became my primary one due to all the features it offers over the older model. Great little device for people with small budgets. Offers something for the whole family.

I bought this recently and I have enjoyed it. The only issue I have is that sometimes when there is competition on line It takes longer to download. It is saving us money. I like being able to look at shows that I may not have been able to see every episode.

The dial up version

We purchased a Roku 1 for our office/ play area/ spare room after having a Roku 3 as our main entertainment for quite some time. It works, but it sure is slower. When we use the "1" its like having to go back to using dial up after having high-speed T1.
Main points are that the remote must be in direct line of sight; interface is sluggish from press of button to result on the screen; appears to have some compression issues in comparison also. It works just fine, but it is the older model. Spend a few bucks more for the newer models.
