I bought this to replace the original roku player and am very happy with purchase. layout is nice, channels are nice. everything is good and I got it for an excellent price.

Great potential, but hobbled and unusable for us

I already own a PC Media center, as well as a gaming console media center, and a Chromecast. I was hoping the Roku would replace at least some of these things. But playing files from my NAS worked better from my Synology to my Chromecast and media PC, and Comcast disallows the playing of HBO Go on the Roku.
Also, I expected to have volume controls on the remote control and was disappointed when it did not... I guess it was my faulty for not checking more thoroughly... I did not expect that they would even sell the lower models without those two simple buttons...

Simple, sleek, and efficient

I have been using a Roku for several years now and was in the market for a new one to pair with a spare TV. The Roku 1 stands-up to the same high quality as my older player with it seasy to use, intuitive design. For the money, you really cannot beat this product for streaming.

I bought my second one in Florida so I could watch TheBlaze. The best part is that I can watch on demand when I want to.

But it out 3 weeks ago. Lost signal after 3 days. Called cable company to up streaming speed. Not the problem. Hit reset button. Nothing. Got new wiFi box and network. Unable To Get Settings Up To Chang network. We loved it while it worked. Can't afford a new one
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Only One Problem

I bought our Roko almost a year ago. I only have one complaint. When you are trying to look at titles and you use the left and right arrows it will take off in high speed and go across 20 titles before you can get it to stop. That is very irritating. Other than that...no problem.
