I love using this as an alternative to Cable

I bought this originally as an alternative to cable. We were set to get rid of the high price of cable and use the Roku to watch shows via Netflix and Hulu. It is a great way to watch those, and so much more. There are so many channels available that cater to so many different interests, its an easy and great way to entertain yourself. We have the Roku 3 in the family room and I really like how it looks on our HDTV. I liked it so much that we bought a Roku 1 for my home office. My son loves watching YouTube videos on the Roku1 in there while he plays on the computer.
We ended up keeping cable in the family room, but got rid of it in the rest of the house. I don't even miss it with the Roku 1. I'm very happy with the purchases.

I wish that I had purchased this great device sooner. Now I have realize this is much better than cable is on any given day. I will never go back to cable again!

My family and I like your product. I am not happy with it saying I'm connected to internet and not workin . Fix that and you'll get 5 stars.

Worked for a while then got all wonky

I am the happy owner of a Roku I that I purchased refurbished. However, my second Roku I, bought brand new, was fraught with problems. At first, everything worked normally. However, within a week, some of the content started to appear pixelated. I thought it might be the internet connection, but all other connected devices in the home worked fine, including the other Roku box. Then, a series of vertical lines started to appears on the menu screens. Next, the colors started to become distorted. I moved it around the house and connected it to another television with no change. Finally, I decided to perform a factory reset, but the menus are so jumbled right now that I cannot advance for enough into the set-up to get back to the menu screens.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Adding the JW broadcast channel was simple and using it to navigate through the broadcast is awesome. Connecting to our WiFi took only minutes. We would definitely recommend this product!
