I was able to search YouTube videos on my tablet (easiest way for me) and then play them on the TV through my Roku box....right from my tablet!

If your TV doesn't have a USB drive then this is a great product. You can listen to Pandora, or tap into any of the various subscription services you may already have (Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, etc...) It was easy to set up but you will need a computer nearby. I think plug and play took me about ten minutes total.
My only complaint is that it doesn't stream episodes. So if you're watching your favorite TV show, you will need to click play for every episode. On the XBox 360 for example, if you choose a TV show, it will play several episodes before it asks to keep going. I like this because I like to listen to shows I enjoy but that I have seen enough times to know whats going on while I clean, cook, etc.
I do wish I checked out the fire stick first just off the price. It seems to do the same things and is much cheaper. All in all though, this is a good product. It doesn't look bulky and is nice and small. My only complaint with the physical unit: The remote has no back-light. Kinda important when watching movies in the dark!

I bought my first Roku about six months ago... then I bought my second one for my guest bedroom. I LOVE my Roku...it gives me the freedom of choice, I can select apps that fit my TV watching. So I not stuck with a bundle of shows that I don't like. And I love the easy of it...a one time deal and if I want to purchase a new subscription I can without force or commitment.

I have had this Roku for several weeks now and really enjoy it. Other family members have also recently purchased theirs and we all find it easy to use and install.

I bought this a month ago and I love it.. Plays Hulu Netflix Amazon vudu .. I have 720p 19 inch tv with an hdmi cord.. Picture quality is great!

Roku solved problems I was having

I was streaming NetFlix from another device, but it was constantly buffering and loosing the connection or telling me Netflix could not be found. I was close to canceling my NetFlix subscription but decided to try RoKu. With no other changes other than switching to Roku, all of my problems went away.

I got this thing for free when I upgraded my internet speed. I have spent a good bit of time trying to find something worth watching, but so far have had little success. I find the process of adding and deleting channels time consuming and frustrating.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
