I uses it every day, it cheaper then cable. You have a wide array of movies,games and shows to choose from.

I purchased the Roku 1 for an additional TV. Works great, easy to use. Playback is comparable to my Roku 3. Would recommend.

Easy set up

We bought a Roku as an alternative to cable. We didn't want to pay for channels we wouldn't watch. And most of all we got it mostly so we could watch the JW Broadcasting channel. The system was very easy to set up, and was up and running in less than a half hour.
At first, I thought I was getting Netflix free in the deal. We had a paid subscription prior to this, and I figured "why pay for it when I can get it free through Roku?" So I cancelled the paid subscription & was able to continue viewing the channel...that is until I couldn't log in to my Netflix account. After going to the channel store, I figured it out. It says "free" on the description, but once you click to add it, you discover that it's a free TRIAL. Disappointing, as this is one of the few channels I can find good programs to watch.
In fact, the free movie channels in general have only turned up a few movies we thought were worth watching. We spend more time trying to FIND a program than we do watching one. Maybe we just haven't found the right channel yet. But I had no plans to start paying for a channel to watch something. Those charges can add up. We're not into renting either.
Other than those two disappointments, we're overall pleased with the system. My only suggestion would be to add more live news and maybe a larger selection of free movie channels.

MANY Choices, NO RECORDING FAVORITES n NO CONTRACT

This was a gift to me by my daughters. I am not a great TV watcher, but they knew I wanted this to view JW.org. So glad to have this. Besides JW site, I can view You Tube, PBS, History Channel and others on a Big Screen instead of my tablet--and all without paying a monthly contract fee. Works well even with our low wi-fi rate in our area (as long as no more than two are using the wi-fi at the same time). Was sceptical, but now thoroughly glad we have the Roku!

Picked up my Roku on Black Friday, it setup quick and easy.Only drawback is the navigation inside the apps themselves. YouTube is probably the worst.

I bought the roku 1 to try it out and when I got home and set it up I was truly impressed at all the features and even the customizable wallpaper
