My wife and I have been looking to cut expenses. We were spending over $100 on just basic cable and Internet. The combination of Roku and an a small HD antenna allowed us to cut our bill in half and receive many more channels.
The Roku 1 is a great little box. It is very easy to use. The navigation is very straight forward. My only complaint is about the channel store. Finding quality free channels is not as straight forward as it should be. A bit a searching on the web though solves this problem.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Poor connection

I bought this less than a month ago and I have only had problems with it. When we started watching a movie, it would stop working saying network not found. Now it doesn't even find my wireless connection. I know it's not my router because I can get my Wii to work just fine. Very unstatisfied with my purchase.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

A couple of years ago I bought a Vizio Co-Star. It was great, when it worked. The little box stayed hot to the touch. Eventually I sent it back for a replacement. It kept locking up. After the third try I gave up.

The Roku doesn't have the overheating problem. And to my surprise it does a lot more than I thought it would. My son showed me you can “cast” from youtube, and I imagine other “cast” capable applications. But there is a Youtube app just to keep it simple. The menu is almost too simple for my taste, but it's not too complicated for my wife
I would recommend this to a friend!

I love my Roku 1's, they are awesome. They work perfectly fine for me, I've had my 2 Roku's for I believe going on 2 months now, I have no complaints yet. They provide a lot of features, channels, and etc. I have basically everything I need, and could stream everything I need with them. I really enjoy them. Everything is pretty simple, and easy to set up and use. This has replaced my cable TV.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Bought this as a Christmas gift. We watch everything through our Roku. Easy to setup, easier to navigate than Amazon Fire, fast downloads with minimal buffering. Best purchase ever.

So Easy to use & setup

This was the easiest device in the world to setup and use.. it was truly about 45 seconds worth of effort ! Not sure why I waited so long to get one but now I have 3of them !
