It Died

I got a Roku 1 as a gift in mid-December, 2014. It is now dead and has to be returned under warrantee. Return postage at my expense. I have a second, older Roku 1 which has worked flawlessly, so I was reluctant to give this only 1 star, but I assume I am only to rate the latest unit.

Better Streaming

My daughter had a Wii to stream Netflix in her room. It would stop and need restarted several times per show. I'm sure part of the problem was Comcast, however it seldom happens with the Roku. The only thing I would improve upon is allowing you see all Netflix member profiles like the Roku 3.

love ROKU

we've had a WiFi adapter which froze all the time or we've had to reset it before watching Netflix- I've decided to give ROKU a try and love it, easy set up, great connection, never problems with freezing, so easy even grandma can use it....

Runs slow and sometimes channels won't load

Owning a Roku is like living with a moody child. Sometimes it just won't pick up any signal and other times it works great. I have had to reset it 2 times which is a pain in the neck as passwords and email addresses have to be re-entered for channels. The free movie channels are worthless as none of the movies are even the slightest bit familiar. I mainly use it for Netflix, PBS, History channel. Seems like it works best in the day or early evening. Late at night is when it gives me the most trouble.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
