How nice to be able to get rid of cable TV !

I had not heard of Roku until I visited my daughter at Christmas. She has had hers for several months and loves it. Just so happens she bought us one for Christmas. We have been using it since Dec. 26. Have not turned on the cable TV and love it. Will be discontinuing cable when contract is up in 2 months.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Not the same as I was expecting.

I previously own a Roku 3. Of which we have truly enjoyed. So, I decided to purchase two Roku 1's for each of my kids. We were dissappointed to find that on many channels now you need to have a service provider in order to use them now. But mostly we were dissappointed with Netflix not allowing the selection of different profiles like we have on the Roku 3.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great streaming options at a low price

I bought 2 Roku 1 boxes for older model bedroom tvs with no open HDMI ports. Both run well and produce great quality picture and sound thru their AVI outputs.

We can watch cable without the box-it organizes our channels by movies, kids, etc. love that feature. Netflix is great Google prime, it's all there!

The Roku 1 takes forever to load up (if it even decides to load). It's Wi-Fi connection is moderate, and absolutely no videos play. Not on Netflix, or any other show app.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
