I bought a Roku 2 first and the Roku 1 works better due to the placement of the HDMI on the TV.

This is the second Roku I've owned. The first one was the thumbdrive type which was great and could be turned off by the television being powered off. It gave out after about a year. This one, however, has it's own power cord that plugs into the outlet so it stays on all the time. That's good if you don't want to wait for it to power up but it's using power all the time. I've had it for a couple of months. We will see how long it lasts. It's a good value for the price.

Roku is an excellent device that is very easy to use, and fast/smooth. The interface is designed to look great and be very intuitive, the streaming support and image quality is excellent. Definitely the best option out there.

About three months after purchasing this, the color quit working and so I get to watch everything olde school. May be thats why I got the price I did and it was discontinued.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
