It works great. Has so many channels you can watch. Some are free others cost.

I Love Roku!

I bought the Roku 1 for our older model TV and it is wonderful. I love being able to sit down and watch tv shows or movies when I want to, not when they are scheduled. We also have the Roku Streaming Stick for my daughter's TV. I definitely do not regret making these purchases. I like the idea that there are different levels for different needs.

Our family can't get enough of it, really. We purchased Netflix, Hulu Plus and MLB.tv and had to get a second box because we were all fighting to use the same TV all the time.

I have the roku 1 and google chromecast. Chromecast has some features I like better but Roku rates better with me because of all the apps available. You can integrate youtube and prime as well as other video and music apps. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because you can';t add FX to it. You need Roku 2 and above for that. But for the price you can't beat it. It integrates perfectly with Harmony remotes as well if you put it out of site.

Not better than cable

We have been having issues with our Roku box having to be reboot, etc for the live streaming to work. We cut out our cable to save money but not sure if it's worth it since we can't watch TV now without it stopping.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
