Works as advertised. Loading seems to be a bit slower than expected on startup. Have not been able to fully explore due to personal time constraints. However, I am moving toward cutting the cable/Direct Tv. I enjoy the ability to select what I want to watch when I want to watch w/o having to set recording time. Great product overall. I am sure over time this will advance.

Wi-Fi connection sucks

My roku activation process sucls tells me that it's connected and activation cpde is retrieving snd never appeared to get started and this is the only way to set up

I bought my roku a couple of months ago and at first worked fine but it's starting to freeze up and sometimes I have to constantly reset it to get it to play. This is the third box I've got from the store after returning the fit's two with similar issues.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Although this unit works very well it is missing the connection to my personal computer so I will be replacing it with one that does.

Reliable but inexpensive

I was using a Blu-Ray player to stream to my tv but it could no longer connect to my wi-fi. Since I already had a Roku device in my house I decided to try another one. Even though this is the least expensive version it does everything I need it to do and issues with wi-fi are rare, if they happen at all.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have a Roku on all the TVs. I did not realize it at the time, but the Roku on the primary TV did not have the closed caption feature. All the other models do. It just never occurred to me to check. I have replaced it with a Roku that has the option of closed captions. This helps with my hard of hearing visitors and when viewing a film with actors who might have heavy accents. Love it.!

I bought the Roku 1 hoping to take better advantage of my Netflix subscription and YAY! Not only do I watch Netflix, but many other channels....FREE channels! The unit is easy to use and goes a long way in slaying the Cable TV dragon. I highly recommend Roku.
