Easy to use

So I bought the stick a couple of months back. Didn't like it for some reason we always had to buy batteries for it. Always I mean like every week. maybe we had got a bad one. And you could not take it from room to room like we do with the roku 1. I love this thing. It is very easy to use. I have already recommended it to many people I know and if i see people in the store and they ask my opinion I tell them I prefer the roku 1

HD doesn't work...

I tried 3 different HDMI cables in different ports on the TV to no avail - just got sound but no picture. I just gave up and used the the video cables. It works but no HD. Should have sent back but I already registered it and it would be too much of a hassle.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I've had a Roku 1 for about two years and I loved it so much I bought a second for another tv in my office,there are other players nut none with so many channels, always been pleased with my Roku Player.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I wish it had an on/off switch...It gets a bit warm so I have it plugged into a power strip and shut it off every night.

Roku 1 has poor features

The store clerk told me the only difference between the Roku 3 and Roku 1 is the elimination of channels. This is not entirely true. The Roku 1 has a very poor remote control experience. The angle of signal acceptance is too narrow. The interface is not the same as the third model.
Truth be told; I do not like the Roku 1. Roku should remove it from their portfolio or bring this model up to speed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
