I have had regular over the air broadcast most of my life. And when I found out about Roku I knew I had to get one. Gosh there is so many channels on there. Its insanely awesome. I love it. SO many channels to watch.

Simple yet not good.

I have had my Roku 1 player for about a month now, and have been underwhelmed with it. Netflix, well to start, Roku will only play one episode at a time. To me, this makes it less enjoyable, since a DVD will play continuously.
The next problem, is that the volume is so low, I have to turn the sound up all the way to get a whisper. Set up....well, the fact they force you to use a credit card to set up, was really a pain. Also, it took almost an hour and a half, to complete the set up, because the system is so slow. Over all, I would not do this again if I had it to do over.

More than I expected!

I bought the Roku first of all because I could use it with my wifi to get great movies through Netflix but I didn't expect all the extras that it came with. Hulu, VUDU, Weather, AMAZON just to name a few. My wife & I have decided that it offers so much that we're cancelling our cable service & we'll save over $100 / mo. & still have access to all of our favorite shows. So what if it's not live. We see them a few days after they have posted. We still have all the entertainment! I'll never go back to cable again, not with my Roku!

I bought the Roku 1 for myself during the holiday season this past year. Don't subscribe to any cable network, so I really enjoy the movies that are available to rent or purchase.

I've been overly pleased with my Roku. Also saved my a few hundred $ because I didn't have to buy a smart TV.

Purchased the Roku 1 to make use our kitchen T.V. which does not have HDMI inputs.
Tried various cables with different boxes, but none except the Roku worked. Breathed new life into an older television and is smooth as silk . Would recommend to anyone looking for a streaming box
