Touchy remote

I like my roku 1, it allows me to acess Netflix, Amazon Prime & PBS on my older model TV. The video quality is good & the feed never lags once started. Sometimes it can take a while to load a news video. My only real complaint is that the remote is very touchy. It is easier to use the roku app on my phone than the remote.

This was the only option that had component outputs, so we had no choice. This thing is junk. The Netflix app is terrible, the remote is IR based and feels cheap, etc. We have a Roku 3 and love it, but this junk was a serious disappointment.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I already have a Roku3 which is great. I bought the Roku1 to connect to an old Sony Trinitron which still has an excellent picture considering it is not HD. The Roku is connected to the Sony through an RF modulator and there is no loss of picture quality. This is the perfect solution to use in a spare room.

I bought this upon canceling cable and was tired of watching Netflix on my laptop. Easy to move from living room to bedroom, great selection of channels, and overall great product.

Love the free movies and tv shows

I bought this to work an old CRT based TV. We didn't need the extra features the 2 and 3 have so this worked out well. If we ever get an hdtv though, it's forward compatible since it has an hdmi out. So far, so good.
