Works very well?

I bought this about a month ago. It works very well. The only small flaw is that Youtube videos can only be fast forwarded or rewound at a slow speed.

I bought this a little over a month ago it wouldn't pick up my WiFi and after 2 weeks it stopped turning on all together. Definitely not worth the money.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

ROKU 1 Experience

We bought a ROKU 1 and it definitely offers more TV viewing options. The unit is a little slow but otherwise, it is great. It has allowed us to drop cable TV saving us a hundred bucks a month. We no longer have to watch inane commercials or a cable TV menu apparently aimed to an audience with a lower intellect than ours. We don't miss cable TV and enjoy being able to watch better programming with clarity and better choices. For the price, it was a good buy. We recommend buying a ROKU 2 however.

I got this as a gift to replace my old Roku (which still worked after 6 years but didn't have all the features). It was super easy to set up!

The Only Way To Cut The Cable

We recently bought a Roku 1 because the old Roku we had was going to be phased out as far as upgrades and support was concerned and Roku provided a great upgrade deal.. The Roku 1 has ports for interfacing with our ancient monster analog Sony tv. Recently our old Sony started showing signs of an immanent death of the CRT, that being a rainbow halo around the picture that grew larger each day. So we recently bought a HDTV flat panel and was so relieved that all we needed was an HDMI cable to hook up to our Roku 1. The versatility has saved us money! Always a bonus. We haven't had cable for over 15 years and we plan to keep it that way considering the ridiculous cost of cable and similar services like DSH and DirectTV. We only wish there was a way to get some local channels as antennas don't work well where we are located but we love the choices Roku has given us at an affordable price.

Ideal For Me

My son gave me this device for Mother's Day. I am so happy with it. I am an avid movie watcher. I cancelled my Directv and subscribed to Netflix. I am having so much enjoyment using my Roku. I have channels that I haven't even tried yet. This will keep me entertained forever. Thank you.
