Sorry, it failed!

There seems to be a product defect. It is very slow, keeps displaying "Retrieving" but does not retrieve even after several minutes, at least most channels. I have another Roku box (Roku !!) and it works well with both my TVs.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Subscriptions get expensive

I can't afford cable TV and purchased Roku as a way to watch various programs without the cost of cable. From what I've seen so far (only a month), most of the apps available have subscription costs.

I got my Roku as a mother's day gift and I've been hooked ever since. I especially love the "Learn to speak Italian" and "Italian Cooking" channels. And there's always new channels to review. It's great, I can get my horoscope and learn a new hairstyle. Roku surpassed my Kindle as my all time favorite gadget.

Entertainment on your schedule

I have two ROKU's currently in use because not everyone wants to watch the same thing at the same time. My Roku makes it possible to "binge" watch a TV series in 3 to 5 days rather than recording each episode weekly over several months. There is also a wide variety of entertainment choices. ROKU is very easy to setup and can be on line in a matter of minutes. I have been using ROKU for over 3 years and have never had a performance or technical issue. Great product and can usually be found at a great price. Buy one!
