It works easy to install some channels dont. hard to find stuff you really like to watch . So you have to search alot. .I still like it and cable and other companys are to expensive..And have alot you pay for and never watch ..Cut the cable.

Player is similar in price to Chromecast but has way better features. I like the streaming buttons. Only con is that they keep pushing pay per view.

Great Alternative to Cable or Dish

We have 3 Roku 1 boxes and have had them for several months now. We have a Netflix subscription and watch that through our Roku the most. There are a ton of other channels through the Roku, but most are either short clips or not of interest to us. We have to catch the local news online and have to wait for a show to either be online or be added to Netflix. Seems more and more shows require signing on, but if I had cable, I wouldn't need Roku. Doesn't make sense. But, we don't watch much TV, so this is a great alternative for us.

Easy to use

I bought this device to help my mom cut the cord with cable and she loves it. It's very easy to use and simple to install. The only thing she doesn't like about it is that it doesn't allow her to have her profile visible on Netflix. Because she is on my account, it shows MY profile and movie selection.

I initially added the first of my 3 Roku 1's to be able to watch Bloomberg News and use my Amazon Prime account on one of our analog PCs. When I saw the amazing quality, offering of services, and the stability without buffering, I added 2 more Roku 1 units for our other analog TVs. Looking forward to adding a large screen Roku TV as we get to enjoy the service. With capabilities like what Roku's offer, why would anyone stay or even consider cable ?
