I had been using a Playstation doohicky...really sort of liked it...I was a little apprehensive when this tiny little sort of oval box arrived. What a pleasant surprise. Took no time at all to get the hang of it and so, so, so, so, so much easier to use. Love the darn little thing. Thanks

Purchased my ROKU a month a go. I'm 65 years old and have no mechanical or electronic skills what's so ever. Thank goodness the instructions were easy and I had it working in a matter of minutes. Go Granny!!

new models not as good as the older models.

Bought the Roku 1 about a month ago. I had a Roku 2 XD (older model, square) that worked flawlessly. But this Roku 1 has had nothing but problems keeping connected to my router. I use the standard WPA2 AES/TKIP setting with auto channel. All other wireless devices (IE:Blue Ray, Phones, Wii U) works flawless. But this Roku 1 seems to have trouble with this connection type. Its only 20ft from the router and would forget then loose the wireless network. I would perform a search and it wouldn't find the network, but it would pick up the neighbors. So I read the trouble shooting guide on Roku website. It suggested using channels 1 or 11 for less interference.. I tried all the help tips to no avail. I eventually had to lessen my security to WPA with only AES on the lowest settings with auto channel. It seems to be working fine for the past few weeks this way. It just sucks that ai have to dummy down my network security in order to get this to work properly. Anyone who is not network savy may have issues. I hope you don't though. Other than that, I've always had good luck with Roku and have loved the little boxes.

I have a Roku 2 old style with wired and wireless with the RCA connections as well as HDMI outputs. I bragged about it to the in-laws. I finally bought a Roku 1 for them(they needed the RCA connection). It would not connect up to their Wi-Fi router. I took it home and it connected to mine(I have an N router theirs is a b/g router) I update the firmware(it does it automatically when it 1st connects to the internet). I thought that this would fix the problem. Nooooo! The only way it would it would connect to their router was without any security passcodes. So now they have decided to run their router without passcodes so they can use their roku 1. They live in the country so they should be safe. Make sure you have an N router or a router that the roku works with before you buy.

I am just now able to spend some time learning this product. I have not yet subscribed to any pay channels. This Roku seems to be part of the puzzle to replace the monopoly cable company (which I have already ditched for an antenna). Thank you Roku.
