I LOVE MY ROKU. THERE IS SO MUCH VARIETY WITH IT. I DO NOT MISS HAVING AT&T UVERSE, AT ALL.

Not as great as advertised

Many of the "More than 2000 channels" you have to pay for. You also have to set up logins for nearly all of the free one channels which is a pain every time you try a new one. Then once you're in it's great if you want to watch movies from ten years ago or some unpopular TV shows.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We ditched cable after too many rate increases and junk programming. At least now we can even watch premium content with the added cost of filler fluff.

Easy to use. I have had it for a month. It has so many apps , I haven't even scratched the surface as far as all the options. Extremely happy! Will be purchasing more Roku's for the other rooms, family, and friends. Thanks Roku!

As Much As Hoped For

We have one of the last Toshiba projection 55" televisions. It only has a DMI input for the video, no HDMI for both video and audio. I hoped that Roku 1 would allow me to use the HDMI out for the video with my HDMI/DVI adapter cable and still have audio at the RCA jacks. It did! I reconnected my BluRay player and hooked the Roku up to just a composite video input and the picture is still very good. Now if I can just find time to watch a little television!

We didn't have any idea how Roku worked when we bought it but with trial and error we quickly figured it out. Lots of free stuff but you can buy more movies and TV depends on what you want.
