Lacking Codec Support

This device was ok, I bought it to use instead of the XBOX due to the lack of support for various codecs, however the Roku is just as bad, if not worse. I bought a Matricom Android TV Box and couldn't be happier. It does everything and fast. The only thing the Roku is good for is Netflix.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

we got this almost a year ago & we love it. the free channels are great. I just wish dome of the pay for channels were a little better.

Love my Roku but lags on some Apps

I bought it almost a year ago for a specific app but it lags. More diverse apps would be grat, other than that I love it.

Streaming video for my old TV !!!

My family loves the two Roku 3 boxes we have for our flat screen TVs and wanted another for our old but still nice tube TV. The old TV does not have a HDMI connection but fortunately the Roku 1 works with the red-white-yellow connectors. It works great and the family is very happy. The only noticeable differences are that the remote requires line-of-sight and also the menus on Netflix are not quite as slick. Otherwise a great option for an older TV.
