Just the right connections

An excellent device, that fit my needs perfectly. So many streaming devices have done away with composite outputs and Roku has kept them on the Roku 1! That made such a difference between me being able to keep my wonderful 15" Bedroom TV, since a newer larger set would not fit in the space. R

Makes what's old new!

I picked up the Roku 1 unit because my TVs are older models. I enjoy the remote control and the ability to stream programs....even my cable programs through the internet app. It's made my old TVs new again. Now we can truly get rid of our cable equipment.

I'm glad I bought the Roku 1 and have a few issues with it. It is very handy and is an excellent option to extend the life of game consoles that could be used for the same purpose, however the Roku 1 is not always the most responsive and the search function could definitely be better. Also, with no way to shut it off, it sometimes feels hot, which could be an issue. That said, the ability to add multiple streaming sites is very nice and the one time cost of the Roku is a definite plus.

I have an old analog television so the Roku 1, with the red, yellow and white connector cables was the way I had to go when looking for a streaming player. The set up was a breeze and functionality is super simple. I bought it specifically to be able to watch Netflix. While I have not had any issue connecting to and watching Netflix on my player, I do wish that the application on the Roku 1 would allow for switching between the different profiles as the later models do. Maybe with an update to the application Roku will look at adding that feature.
