I bought this #1 about a month ago. And It seems like i spend 1/2 my viewing time rebooting it . so I am not very pleased with it and I would not recommend it

I was tired of increasing cable tv bills and decided to go full Roku at my residence. I have 3 players two roku 1s and a Roku 3. The family does not miss cable tv we use Netflix and Amazon prime . Thought we would miss local news but we can get that on our computer. I have seen offers for showtime that is possibly the only channel I would subscribe to for their outstanding shows.

Love all the streaming choices that come with this Roku 1. My kids used to spend a lot of time on this.
I'm must admit, its a little slow and sluggish in comparison to the Nexus player we recently bought. We pretty much now use the Nexus player because it is just way more faster and the surfing experience is seemless. However, theRoku has way more content.

I bought this 2 mos ago..skeptical of it but I LOVE IT. I recently visited a friend who had no cable and I hooked up my Roku to her TV and walla we could watch Netflix (I'm a subscriber ) I won't go anywhere without it. Especially when I travel out of town. I highly recommend this one because it's small and compact. Thinking of purchasing the voice activated one to see how much difference it is. I'll keep you posted.

This is a great starter roku. It's only weakness is it must be within 20 feet of your wifi to work best!

I bought my Roku 1 right at a year ago and we have had time to get well aquainted . It works very well . Since I do not subscribe to dish tv or cable tv , this Roku has many channels and sub channels that play old movies as well as new ones . Most I don't have to pay extra for , and I love the old black and white ones.

It's all about time and money, and never having both at the same time! Roku allows me to catch up, discover and binge watch on my schedule. So nice to have an alternative to commercial tv.
