It's old, but a great companion to an old TV!

I have 10 year old plasma TV that only has component and composite Video Inputs - No HDMI. That means I'm excluded from every other "smart TV" device from the Roku2 or higher, the Roku Stick, the Fire Stick, Chromecast, etc. But thankfully not only does Roku still support the Roku 1, but it has a standard component output that works great with my TV. You've added a few more years of useful life to my now-internet-connected TV where I can easily view YouTube, Netflix, Vudu. And the Android Remote app for Roku is a sweet companion making this much easier to use.
I'd give it 5 stars, except that it's age keeps it from accessing some of the new features in Netflix (individual accounts) and other small features that keep it from being perfect. But it's close - and it brings my old TV into the 2010's. Thank you, Roku!

Roku was the most cost effective streaming solutio

I thought there was no way to stream to my 1990s Sony Wega TV. The Roku 1 device solved that problem as it is set up to use the yellow/red/white cables that simply plug into Video 3 on the TV. It was about a 15 minute job to get the device plugged in and set up my Roku account.

I bought this version of Roku about a month and a half ago. It works great for my Vudu and Netflix! I also liked the 14 day trial of Sling. It is great getting the channels I want as opposed to a bunch of junk I don't.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought this last month to use with an older flat-screen TV. (I also updated the speakers of the TV) Now I can down load music into my living room. I also am enjoying more TV programs and movies. Well worth my money.
