Excellent video quality. The Roku app is also great. Very easy to use & cool looking. Can use from anywhere in the room as oppose to having to point the actual Roku remote at the Roku.

great affordable alternative to cable tv

We bought the roku originally just to watch Netflix in the bedroom. However to our surprise, it is able to do much more than that, you can also stream shows from broadcasting networks through it, which you often don't get with basic cable. we don't have cable

I have an older TV and I was looking for a compatable player for it. After some reserch I found a Roku player that suited my needs perfectly. It was a breeze to set up and it works great!

I bought this about a month ago for my kids room and they love it. It is easy to use both my 4 & 3 year old know how to use the remote control (I love that it comes with a remote control) It is much easier for them to use than the Chromecast.

Fun and Easy!

I bought this a few weeks ago to replace my cable network because I mostly watched local channels. So glad I did! With a little help from my son who already has Roku it was easy to set up and chose the channels I want. I especially like Pandora and the other music channels when I am in a nostalgic music listening mood. I enjoy the news channels, history channels, PBS channels, etc. I also use Roku to stream from the Internet. To say the least I am very happy with my Roku!

Basic setup

Unlike the wireless version, the Roku1 connects via the RCA cable (3-prong yellow-red-white). We were able to plug this into the back of the DVD player since our old TV doesn't have those connections. Nice addition for older sets (the new versions we looked at did not have this feature).
