I cut the Cable cord and I'm glad I did!

I was looking for an alternative to cable due to no competition in my area which resulted in my cable company charging astronomical monthly fees. After much research and doubt, I took a chance and bought the Roku 1 because it works with older TVs as well as with my newer flat screen. I am overjoyed with how it works and the picture does not look like it is streamed. It was very easy to install, and I was very surprised at the number of programs and channels available for free. No more cable for me-EVER again!
I would recommend this to a friend!

I'm not disappointed at all. There are plenty of streaming choices to view. The quality is excellent even in standard definition. I recommend this product to anyone shopping around for a streaming player.

I don't like how I have to continually select the next episode to watch instead of like on the xbox or laptop it automatically after a few seconds plays the next video for me. I use it for my 3 year old when its time for bed and its really annoying going up and down the stairs every 30 minutes to start the next episode.. Other than that its great and we love it, but if there is anything that can be fixed about that it would be great!!

We have had ours a month or so and its easy to use and figure out how it works. Offers a lot to choose from for sure! But most of the major channels such as A&E. Fx, fox and others are still not available to you without a fee. Hard to activate channels that require a subscription you cant find any activation site anyway. Like FX activate page does not exist yet apparently.

The Roku 1 is my first streaming box that I purchased about 2 years ago. I purchased mainly for using with Netflix, I had been using the Wii and quality was not so good. So far I have been happy with the purchase, no complaints!
