easy to set up and use

I got a roku 1 about a month ago and I couldn't be happier with the decision. Even as the basic model, it had all the features I needed...netflix, hulu, etc. And most importantly, set up and use are very easy!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great for older TVs

We have lived with the motto "if it still works, why buy a new one" so we still have a picture-tube TV. After dealing with Directv for years, being very sick of the filth, we researched streaming devices and purchased the Roku 1. I am very pleased with the device, especially for Netflix, but was a little disappointed that a lot of what I thought was "free" really isn't and requires a provider subscription. Also was disappointed that there isn't a web browser on the main screen like on the Apple TV product. There is a web browser app but we have had issues getting it to work. Overall, I am glad that I purchased it.

Great way to retrofit my old tube TV

I have an old TV that i disconnected the cable on, and I added the ROKU one so I could access news and weather info, as well as music while I am working in my home office. Its a great fit for my needs. When we have my sister's kids over, we can let them watch PBS Kids or family movies on Amazon Prime through it as well.

I purchased to replace my Dlink box which stopped functioning. I was upset that this model does not support Netflix multiple profiles

The BEST purchase I ever made!

I bought my first Roku player about 2 years ago. Since that time I have purchased 3 more. Roku has saved me a fortune in wasted dollars to the cable provider and I can watch WHAT I want - WHEN I want it. The BEST purchase I have ever made.

I BOUGHT THIS A MONTH AGO AND FOR TWO DAYS I COULDN'T GET THE PROGRAMS I WATCH TO PLAY IT WOULD SAY ITS RETREAVING AND THEN JUST GO BLACK AFTER THE GREEN BAR WENT SO FAR... ALSO THE OTHER NIGHT I WAS TRYING TO WATCH A SHOW AND IT WOULD STOP EVERY 5 SECONDS AND BE RETRIEVING. NOT REAL THRILLED WITH IT
