The remote doesn't always work. I can't get netflix to load. Other channels require a cable acct to even access so we can't watch them. Other channels require a payment. It's not horrible but it's not great :/
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Have a Roku 2 yet can not record using Composite out as in the Roku 1. Have the 2 hooked to a HD TV and the 1 hooked to a DVD recorder. Both are easy too use.

I think this is the best thing anyone could have came up with. I love and my kids love it. so many apps and the things you can stream are awesome.

Nice addition to TV

Overall, this is a nice device. The only reason it wasn't rated Excellent is because initially, it can be a little tricky to set up. However, once everything is connected and working with ones internet, etc., it is hard to imagine not having one.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Wired is better

I have both a wired and wireless Roku. You may not like cables, but from my experience, the option to plug in an Ethernet cable makes a big difference. The Roku Wireless Player is slow, freezes often, and loses signal more times than I can count. Overall, it can make trying to watching TV an irritating experience. It is worth noting, I have none of these problems with my older Roku (wired). The features, remote, size. setup are all great but the wireless model will just not sustain a continuous stream. I have checked the signal and I get "excellent" signal strength on all my other wireless devices.
My vote - spend the extra money - get one with an Ethernet port - in the long run it will more than pay for itself.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

It's cheaper than cable and has all my favorite channels, apps, and music stations!!!! I haven't had a problem with it and I have had it for almost 3 months!!!! Wish there was a way to hook up more than one TV to it that's why I have it 4 stars.
