I really like all the possible channels that you can add; alot of unique content along with the expected nexflix and stuff. But literally every channel is either pay to subscribe or you have to watch more show interrupting commercials than you would on regular tv.
And just a warning, if you have streaming services that allow for different users to make their own profiles (ie. Netflix) you will want to get at least the Roku 2 because the 1 does not allow you to switch between profiles.
It's a good device but the Roku 1 is terribly limited compared to newer models and the lack of updates for the device will for sure mean that I won't ever buy another.
And just a warning, if you have streaming services that allow for different users to make their own profiles (ie. Netflix) you will want to get at least the Roku 2 because the 1 does not allow you to switch between profiles.

My only real complaint about the Roku player is that it does not have an on off button I found that the device got too hot several times had to be reset by unplugging it from the wall of that outstanding

Bought this about a month ago and Netflix no longer works on it. It works on all our other devices just not this Roku.

Needs more updated movies and channels. There are a great many channels you need to have a subscription with a cable provider to watch, so what's the point in having that channel as a choice?
