Great selection of channels, easy to use

I bought this about 6 weeks ago and find it very useful. I got rid of cable several years ago and the addition of the Roku to my antenna gives me a lot of versatility by adding Hulu and Netflix (as well as other channels) right on my tv.
I would recommend this to a friend!

First off I will admit to two things, not being tech savvy or having any kind of cable service for at least 15 years. Taking this in mind, I loved the easy hookup and not needing to commit to a cable company. It took me all of 5 minutes to hook everything up and create an account. Which to me is huge! I love the variety of channels I was looking forwards to watching but also all the channels I never even knew about. Ok negatives, sometimes I have to unplug and reset the unit as there is no power switch. Not really a big deal but I do find it irritating after I sit down to have to get up and fix it. But all in all I am happy:)

Easy to set up and use

I bought this to replace a wi-fi blu ray player that failed to connect to my online services. I love it. It downloads fast and has never buffered during my show. I think this is an excellent choice for streaming services.

I didn't want to pay for cable, so this seemed to make the most sense. I love it, except that I can't connect my phone to it. I also wish there were more channel options, but that's not necessarily a Roku thing.

Roku 1 gets more life out of older style sets

I had an older TV in the basement, I had replaced that old set with the flatscreen. Well, of course the new TV broke a month after the warranty expired. So, I resurrected the old one. I was very happy to find that the Roku 1 would connect to the old set. Though the resolution is obviously lower overall, I still have my Netflix and other content accessible.
