I bought it a month ago thinking I would have lots of channels. But most of them you have to pay to get them. The free channels are old tv shows back in the 60's and 70's . Not at all what I thought it would be.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Roku 1 is Not a Roku 3

Bought and returned the Roku 1 in 2 days. Roku 3 is a fantastic streamer! Bought the 1 thinking it would be just as good. I was wrong - no comparison! Pay the extra for the Roku 3.

I bought Roku SE on a Thanksgiving deal for our kid room and I am satisfied with the value for money it gives. I have Sony BRD Streaming player too and I find the Roku much better!!!
