Roku 1

I bought a Roku 1 (three adapter plugs red white and yellow) and a Roku 3 (HDMI adapter) with a remote the Roku 3 didn't work because my TV is an older model even though the TV has a HDMI connection) and I did change the antennae to HD but I don't think it the same thing. My TV is a Sanyo and I say it's an older model because my father past away in 1996 and I'm still using the same TV, I used to watch movies via internet connection (on the same TV) and still can but you I don't get the use of a remote you have to use a wireless remote and it makes my laptop computer very warm...
I would recommend this to a friend!

easy to use

We like our Roku, but there has been a couple of times where it says it's not connected to the wi-fi. There is no problem with any other device connected to our wi-fi, so I couldn't figure out why the Roku was saying it wasn't connected. I had to unplug the device and plug it back in, then it continued to work.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Disappointment

I bought this about 2 months ago and am very disappointed with it. Most things have to be paid for. When you go to register programs so that they can be used, it does not allow you complete the registration. In talking with others that is the same problem that they are experiencing. I work in a customer service situation and see many returned.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Fast & Simple

I bought the Roku 2 a few months ago and have been bowled over by how simple, fast and convenient it is to use. I recently purchchased the Roku 1 for my other TV. It is also an incredible streaming device, in my opinion the BEST!
