I bought two Roku 1s in order to watch TWC TV and eliminate 2 set top boxes provided by TWC. While working reasonably well initially, service has deteriorated to the point of unacceptability due to frequent loss of service and "channel not available at this time" messages. Not sure whether this is Roku related or TWC related, but both companies advertise their support of this activity.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Comcast was getting way outta hand on their price for tv so I'm glad I told them goodbye and got a roku...well worth it!!

LIke the Roku Stick Better

The setup was not easy and did not like how Netflix functioned. The basic Netflix version only allows you to access the account holder's profile. My children were unable to go to their profiles and I was unable to download a better version. Not sure what makes Roku 1 better (and more expensive ) than the Roku stick.

Super easy to set up so it makes it easy to bring around with you when you travel!! We had this on vacation and it was awesome! Even has a good picture on an older tv. Does need a hdmi cable for the new ones

Love Everthing about it except the remote

I love everything about the Roku including the cost, content, ease of use, and style except the remote. The remote needs some work as it will often skip over items and is hard to control. I have several Roku units and this is an ongoing issue.
