I bought Roku for my bedroom because my husband has the living room and my daughter has cable in her room

Great alternative to cable

Cable service in my area is horrible. I purchased Roku as an alternative, first in my living room. Now I have Roku in two bedrooms. I love it.

Super easy to install. Could have used more detailed instructions and tips - printed on paper - to set up my accounts, though. Have upgraded my TV and now have Roku SE. Will donate the Roku 1 to charity.

Bought my Roku 1 after researching all the models. For my purposes the 1 seemed perfect. Turns out it is BRILLIANT! I was afraid a little at first because the reviews on various sites had read that the unit was difficult to initialize. However, I found it quite easy to set up (perhaps a little time consuming because my computer is upstairs and I had to go back and forth from tv to computer a few times to get codes and passwords set up.) Honestly I am no tech head either so if I can do it, anyone can. I LOVE having the ability to pick and choose from shows that I like instead of having to pay for a couple hundred channels with cable and only watch 4 or 5 on a regular basis. Roku lets YOU decide what you want to watch- some channels are free some are not but overall I think it is so much better, so far superior to the cable experience that is it hard to find enough good things to write about it. I am so happy I did this for my Christmas present. It feels good to dump cable!!!! WARNING: You might find it addictive! Best regards, LKW

We actually bought our ROKU used from a local trading post website. We absolutely love it!! It beats paying to much for satellite or cable. It was very easy to setup and navigate. We are planning to get one for all the rooms. Will definitely purchase another again!
