not good for kids!

I bought my daughter this roku, because her hdmi port in her tv isnt working, and this had the color cables that works with it, i absolutely hate it. When she watches netflix, it only allows her onto the main profile, not the kids profile (and of course you cant edit the order list on netflix so that the kids profile is first) it also doesnt show thumbnails of the episodes, and no pictures. Its like watching tv 10 years ago. And all the apps that claim to be free, arent. You have to go through your cable provider to get most of them. The only app i do like on their is hulu, and even then, hulu doesnt offer a strictly kids section. Very dissatisfied, and was a waste of my money. I have to buy her a new tv just so she can access kids shows another way.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

It's just great! It makes any TV a smart TV. Plus it stays connected better and operates smoother than some that I've had. A real bargain at the price. Now I have it in the guest rooms instead of cable, that's a real savings in a year.

I received my Roku one player for Christmas this year. I love it easy hook up easy use great channel choices. My daughter is also able to use it so that's a perk as well.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This is my 4th Roku purchase...I bought one for my 9 year old and 2 for my parents. They are not very tech savy but can use these with no problem. The content available is awesome as well.

Decent basic player, but some issues as it ages

The Roku SE (1) and it is a decent, basic streamer. However, it doesn't support the Tablo APP well and makes loud chirping noises when the audio comes back from silence. Due to the loud chirps and the slow responsiveness of the player, I plan to return it. Roku seems to have a very good concept though. If I could afford one I would try a Roku 3 or 4. The Roku 1 just doesn't work for my needs since it has audio issues with Tablo.
