we have had our Roku for 1 month now and don't know why we had waited so long paying extortionate cable bills when we have all at our finger tips with Roku we would highly recommend anyone to get Roku and enjoy TV at its best

Lots of Channels to choose from

I love the way the Roku has expanded my channel options. I use Sling the most, which is a subscription channel. The one downside is that so many of the channels, you have to have a cable subscription first, in order to use. I cut the cable to reduce costs, so there are channels I'ld love to use, but I can't.

I bought multiple friends/family the Roku 1 as Christmas gifts - everyone is always in awe of mine. They all love it and I am still enjoying mine - 3 years later!

It drops signal in the middle of shows.

I bought this in December 2015. It would be a wonderful alternative to cable if it didn't drop signal in the middle of shows or jump to different episodes in the middle of an episode I'm watching. The remote has a mind of it's own jumping thru channels and running constantly across the screen when I'm selecting a station to watch. I've also been a little disappointed in the variety of Cartoon Network and Disney Channel for my 3-1/2yr old.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Just What We Needed!

I bought this device about a month ago. We are dissatisfied with our current satellite package, and so we were looking for something to meet our entertainment needs through Netflix and Amazon. We have an old t.v. so we could not stream anything without the Roku. Now, are streaming options are virtually unlimited and we LOVE it! It was a little confusing to get it set up with the t.v. that we have, but with an adapter box, we managed, and now we have it set up with a remote so we can switch between regular t.v. and the Roku. We have dropped our satellite t.v. package down to the most basic, inexpensive available and once our contract has expired, we will probably cancel altogether. Thanks to the Roku, we don't need it!
