I own 2 Roku sticks and one player. They are very different. All work great, but the Roku player has two faults: it only reads the default Netflix profile and the remote is astoundingly short IR, rather than an RF transmitter like the Roku streaming sticks.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I've only had mine 1 month. So far it is great. It is better than cable, yes you have to pay for certain channnels but you get what you want to watch. there are free ones to keep the teens and young ones happy too.

I bought 2 of them on Black Friday. Hooked one up at home for my wife to try, she loves it. The second one I took to work, with all the streaming TV and movie options there is never a boring night

Great Variety of Channels

This was a birthday present and I could not be happier. I can watch hours of craft projects, catch up on my favorite shows or tune into a work out. Definitely a complete package.

Good price on Black Friday SE but....

The Black Friday price on the limited edition SE model enticed me to buy two of the SE model players. Shipped promptly and arrived intact. The only issue I have experienced is that I lose connection via WiFi and have to "restart" the system to reconnect. I have not had time to research if there might be resolution to this issue. Overall, I have been happy. I also own a Roku 2 DS from years ago and it is still going strong.

Great Unit for Older Televisions

I bought the Roku 1 because we have an older flat screen and wanted to be able to use the red/white audio and yellow video RCA plugs. The unit works very well and we appreciate the cable/satellite alternative and a much more reasonable cost. The one thing to remember is that Roku is only as good as your internet service provider. We soon bought a second unit for our daughter and was a great choice.
