GREAT FEATURES BUT DID NOT LAST MORE THAN 2.5 YEAR

Bought as a 17 year GE upgrade of appliances. Did not last for more than 2 1/2 years. We don't use microwaves to cook but mainly heating up food, so it should last for years. I am disappointed. What is worse, GE only warrantees the item for 1 year.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Installation was difficult for me because of the awkward positioning of the bolt holes being so close to the microwave edge - meant I had to drill a new hole in a very difficult to access place inside my cabinet. Plus, it didn't come with a mounting bracket so I had to adapt to the old bracket. I think we like the new microwave fairly well, but it will take some getting used to. The buttons are in odd places it seems to us and the pre-programmed number pad that cooks automatically is difficult to get used to.

This is the third GE microwave this model in our 4 year old house. I only buy this model so I don’t have to put up a new bracket. Can’t wait to move next year, hopefully before this one goes out too.
