Great product for the price!

I bought this microwave to replace a 10 year old GE microwave. Similar model, still working great until operator error caused damage. This unit installed easily with common hand tools and looks great! Has the features we use every day and are familiar with. Simple, intuitive controls and very quiet. Exhaust blower is a bit noisy when on full power but moves a lot of air and you can still hold conversations while the blower is operating. Definitely worthy of the 5 ⭐️ rating.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Can do a lot better

This microwave is really noisy when operated. It’s also hugely noisy opening and shutting the door. The display is very dark so you have to turn a light on to see the buttons. There’s insufficient lighting from the clock to see the buttons. I had a 10 y/o version of the same microwave which gave out. It was so far superior to this one in every way. If I hadn’t had it installed I’d go for another style or brand in a heartbeat.

Door switch trips breaker

Hi our microwave is only two years old and the switch in the door is causing our breaker to trip.GE does not have service techs in our area—which seems crazy since we aren’t in that small a town—and overall we are very disappointed with the quality of this model. Initial internet searches seem to indicate that many customers have had similar issues with this model after only a short period of time having owned the microwave. We will be purchasing a new microwave by a different brand.

Bad feature

The item is generally very good but the controls are not lighted so it is hard to see the pushbutton settings

Bought microwave two years ago and start blowing inside microwave fuse right after warranty expired. It can not hold fuse without blowing it.

Microwave starting blowing fuse when opening door to stop cooking
Have replaced door interrupt switch and multiple fuses
Tried to retrain myself to not open door to stop cooking but after decades of this with other microwaves and no problems have not been successful
Recommend avoiding this unit

Wonderful features

This is our third GE microwave and we have always replaced the one with the same model. It meets all our needs and is easy to use and clean. GE makes good products even though some are made or assembled in China. It would be great if all GE products were made in the USA.

I replaced my previous GE that had to have been 17 years old with this newer model and I’m really pleased with my purchase. Was a little bit of a booger to install myself, but got it done without too much trouble.
