Why " fix" what WAS a good product

Had to purchase a replacement of the original one purchased 2019.
Supposedly this is identical to the other, but someone, somewhere thought it needed updating/upgrading!
The fan is so much louder, filters don't fit properly into slots, but worst thing Is the exterior light - why in heavens name did we go from having 2 to 1 central light? The interior seems smaller the turntable is elevated more.
Why also on the key pad were the reheat options given in numbers? The previous version indicated the type of food. Will need to keep the manual handy!
Saving grace is my food cooks evenly, so theoretically it works as it should. Just wish it hadn't been "modernized"

Nice microwave, Installation info incomplete.

The Microwave is installed, works perfectly as expected and looks beautiful. It is easy to use, the controls are intuitive.
Delivery was on time - arrival time was defined and met which made it easy to be at home at the right time. I'd have scored 5 stars except the installation instructions need to be improved. I installed the unit myself and there was no mention of the installation of the rear exhaust damper. The instructions on the use of the cabinet bottom template were also incomplete. None of these issues were so serious that the install couldn't be completed properly, but it slowed me down as I stopped to figure things out and proceed while ensuring everything was correct. If a person has done this task several times it would be a lot easier, but frankly how many times does a person actually install a microwave - hence the instructions need to be comprehensive, complete, and clear.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Love white appliances

I like this product however the heating element went bad in it all too soon and I failed to register that Appliance so I'm going to try it again and see if this one doesn't last longer

GE sucks

Terrible microwave. We've has our 3 years and we have to close the door over and over until it finally stops acting up so we can use it. It wont even turn on. It thinks the door is always open even when its closed. I just spent 20 mims trying to warm my coffee with this terrible microwave. We're going to replace it with a different brand. GE stuff sucks. Dont buy it. Our fridge is going out too. I regret buyi.g GE. It's junk. I had a microwave my entire childhood that never went out. Ge doesn't last 3 years. Choose something else.

Dissapointing changes to what was a great product.

I bought this microwave to replace o GE one that shorted out. I had for eight years. It is essentially the same appliance that I had been using and happy with for 8 years. But This new one has several un-helpful and annoying changes. The light under it to light up my stovetop is dim to the point of being useless. The auto setting to microwave baked potatoes has a long delay befor displaying the actual cook time which makes timing my meals a challenge. And the front display which shows the time is so bright you can almost read with it at nigh in the dark, which is very annoying. And the in kitchen venting system is changed and is harder to clean.
I have owned GE range hood microwaves for more than 30 years but this one is disappointing.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

OK Microwave with poor down light and noisy fan

Our GE 1.6 cu. ft. Over-the-Range Micro Wave Oven is just okay...it microwaves our food! We replaced an earlier model that died but the older model gave much, much better lighting on the cooktop. The new model only has one light instead of the earlier model which had two lights. The fan continues to be beyond noisy and inefficient bordering on worthless.

Surface lights burn out in two days, I gave up!

The right-side surface light burns out every two days. I gave up on changing bulbs. Cheap manufacture. Microwave works so I gave it a 2-star rating.

Bought to replace same model that was only 5 years old. Thought it would be an easy swap. Nope. Changed the mounting bracket and top hole locations. Not sure why?

We always recommend using the mounting plate that comes equipped with the microwave as changes are made to different series of the same model microwave.
