Bought to replace older l model. Poorly built, fan extremely loud, make noise as if it was being hit as the turntable goes around. Range lite dull

Oven Cleaning Amazing

My favorite feature is the self cleaning. The only downside is the smoke and strOng odor. If you don’t have a great ventilation system it will be challenging to be near it

Had serious issues

I bought the same model 3 years ago and it stopped working all of a sudden. We used it minimally throughout these years and they t was well kept. Such a standard and expensive equipment failing abruptly is shocking to me. Even with in these 3 yrs, the performance was wierd since sometimes it doesn’t heat the food and sometimes overheat food, turntable and entire chamber. Getting a professional help to fix it was expensive and I don’t get warranty. So I bought an exactly same piece to match the decor as I have all GE appliances in my home. Not sure how long this lasts, but was disappointed with previous one.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

User friendly, and specific choices

This GE microwave is a convenient pleasure to own. I really enjoy the beverage choice of 4, 8, 12oz since I'm a daily tea drinker. And the choices of reheat (plate, pizza or veggies), and potato (1 etc item) is great. It takes the guess work out of warming/cooking foods. GE has it just right.

I'm sorry I can't rate this higher. It heats food just fine (at least a four stars fine). I love the option to turn off the turntable. The add 30 seconds button is convenient. The light over the stove is bright (which I need). But I want a microwave that I can punch in a time and press Start, not have to press a cook button first. Shame on me for not realizing that before I bought the oven. Also, the beeper that keeps going off until you open the door drives me absolutely, positively bonkers. (I'll open the door when I'm good and ready. I don't need a constant reminder.) The reminder to press Start when cook time is left is also annoying (at least it doesn't beep). I like leaving cook time. It means the next time I use the microwave, all I have to do is press the Start button.
I also don't like the defrost capability. When I pull a container of, say, chili or soup from my freezer, I have absolutely no clue how much it weighs, nor should I have to care. (What if I don't have a scale?) My stand-alone microwave had an express defrost button. All I had to do was put the food in the microwave and press the button.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought this microwave oven to replace another GE that stopped working. Did not have any extra features, like the melt button and the menu change on the control pad buttons

Microwave looks great in kitchen and does everything you could want. Also has timer, and nice lighting for on your stove.

Can’t see panel numbers

Had to return GE MW, could not see numbers on unit. Returned to appliance dealer for exchange for unit with readable front panel.
