It lasted a little over a year and now blows the ckt breaker as soon as u turn it on

Great microwave with amazing features..but

I loved this microwave, easy to use, had timer, light and vent fan.
Basically used to reheat items a few times a week, until it started to
smoke one night while re-heating. But it only lasted 4 years and one week,
one week after the extended warranty ended ! We did research at the time and
this was one of the best ones with features-but not the cheapest by far, we expected it to last more than 4 years though.Very disappointed that we have to go and find another one.Thought GE built good quality products that would last.

The quality of this microwave is bad. Ordered and it was installed. A few days later it started making a loud sound. It was replace 2 weeks later. The second microwave has now stopped working completely.
We do not use the microwave much so it’s disappointing that this product did not last even 2 years.

I am having the same issue as another user. (See below)
this is the 2nd GE microwave I've bought in 5 years (same model). they both did the same thing. right after the warranty ran out it started tripping the breaker when turned on. I have an independent line run for the microwave. trouble shot the the line for both and it's the microwave. Unfortunately I can no longer recommend GE microwaves

Loved the microwave until it died.

Loved this microwave, worked well and looked great in my kitchen. We had this microwave for 3 years and then one day it lost power and tripped the breaker. Checked outlet to make sure it worked with other items, and it did. So it was something internal with the microwave. Our previous GE microwave lasted more than 20 years. We ordered another GE and I am praying we get more than 3 years out of it.

Bad handle

I am giving this a bad review because I have owned it for about 18 month and the handle has deteriorated due to a poor design. The "stainless" looking handle is covered in a plastic wrap, basically a silver sticker. The color has worn off and the sticker has wrinkled. It looks terrible and they do NOT sell a replacement handle for this model.

We purchased this appliance just over a year ago. The noise from closing the door transmits through the unit and any backing walls and is loud enough to wake people in rooms on that end of the house. It has no illumination of the control panel buttons ..so you absolutely have to turn the kitchen lights on in order to operate it. Now, at just about a year it is completely dead.

Do not buy this microwave

So we bought this microwave as it was similar to the GE we had before, which lasted 18 years. This newer one however (Manufactured 8/2106) lasted less than 24 months (but longer than the 1 year warranty, go figure). It suddenly stopped working...no power. The fuse had blown, it was replaced and immediately blew upon starting the microwave. Just for laughs and giggles (and because the fuses came in a package of 2) I replaced the fuse again and plugged the microwave into a completely different circuit using an extension cord.....same result, blew a fuse. Obviously something internal is drawing excess current. Anyways, because it is the holidays, and we needed a MW quickly, I bought the same darn model (manufactured 5/2018) as it used the same mounting and was a quick easy install. This time however I did what I never do, I bought an Extended Protection Plan. I never buy these because I believe, if a manufacture builds a quality product then they should stand by it....offering an EPP is not standing behind your product. Anyways that's my story.....hopefully we get a full 18 years out o this unit, like the first quality built one.
