great features & strong handle

Got this as a Christmas gift since my old microwave handle was breaking & very flimsy on the old microwave from another competitor. We love our new GE microwave.

Good and Bad Features

I've had my microwave 2 months now, and I am generally satisfied with it. I like the fact that the control panel is white with black letters and is easy for me to read, but it takes a lot of force to push the buttons compared to my old microwave. I have to push with extra pressure, something I definitely don't like. I'm not weak, but I do have an arthritic thumb. As far as the timer goes, it should be down at the bottom by the cancel and start buttons. On several occasions I have pressed the "timer button" when I meant to press the "cook time" button, and then I'm left wondering why the oven didn't start. The "timer button" is definitely in an inconvenient place.
I love the bright surface light. It lights up my stovetop beautifully! I also love the "add 30 secs." and "Express Cook" feature.
I went to check the vent filter the other day and found it cheaply made. I put my finger through it by the tab as I was trying to replace it. Very frustrating.
All in all, I will learn to live with the differences in my new microwave and adapt to the features, but I will probably not recomment this GE to a friend.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good product for the money. Having arthritis, and loss of strength I my fingers, I find it vey difficult press the buttons to get it running. Modern electronics are usually easier to operate, and take into account that America is aging.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Bought it a few months ago and so far everything has been great. Easy to use and install, though of course you need two persons for the installation as it's a big one.

This microwave has all the functions I need and it looks good too. I'd prefer higher contrast on the button labels but that is a small issue.
