I like the my microwave oven, except, I wish they would have the whole control panel lighted up for easy access to see what buttons you are pressing. The clock is the only light you see. It's hard to see what buttons you are pressing at night. May I suggest black with white letters for easy reading. My oven is easy to use with the help of the manual and it lights up clearly, no problems so far.

This was a replacement for a large, old, over-stove unit. Installation was fairly straightforward (read the instructions). It is quiet, works well, has enough features for a normal person, and has plenty of power. The keypad is a little hard to read in low light and requires a firm touch, but the thick, dark overlay gives it a sleeker look in normal light. The push/pull (shove/yank) door latch could have been better engineered (hope what appears to be plastic latches don't give up), but not a problem. Love the two-level exhaust fan and the two-level surface light.

I've always purchased GE microwaves in the past. They were well designed and long-lasting. GE has taken a step backwards with this one. The button labels are faint and very hard to read. The old GE microwaves had nice bright white labels. The buttons are also not placed in a logical format. For example, why is the button for the light not in the bottom row close to where the light is? When the microwave is running it sounds clunky compared to the old ones. Finally, it does not heat evenly - burning food in the center of the plate. Disappointing.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The unit was the size we were looking for and in the price range we needed. Easy to install myself and is very easy to use with more features we had on the a different brand. Oh and it matched our other GE appliances.

Poor quality construction.

I purchased this microwave due to its high rating on consumer reports however as I installed the microwave it was apparent that the build construction was of extremely low qualify plastic and the door is extremely flimsy.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
